Another win for Daliance!

When your Horse crosses the line in front, it could be at the Cheltenham Festival or, in this case, a Class 4 handicap round Fakenham on a Monday afternoon – it doesn’t matter!

After racing prominently for a circuit, quirky Daliance decided that he wasn’t too bothered about finishing off his race and downed tools. A completely enterprising ride from William Featherstone saw the pair return to the winners enclosure, winning by a head in a photo finish. Will coaxed Daliance back into contention with a hands and heels ride, making up the 12 or so lengths he had dropped off the leading pair. He was racing in the EPDS Racing Welfare Best Turned Out Handicap hurdle, so a really special one for us to win! It is part of our series that we run with the Charity Racing Welfare every year, and since starting the scheme back in 2012 we were yet to run one of our own horses in our race! Maybe we should try it again!?

Regardless of the race name, it was great to see him get his head in front, and a real achievement for the team at Noel Williams Racing team who had improved this Horse by 7lbs prior to this win. We’ll know on Tuesday just how much the handicapper puts him up for this performance!

Dali has been busy of late, winning two of his three previous starts. He’ll have a few well deserved, quiet weeks now before cracking on with him again for a spring campaign that could well see him running back over fences if the ground turns in favour of this.

Congratulations to all his connections, and again to the Team at Whiteshoot. Noel took home a winner and the third placed horse, young Bingo D’Olivate that afternoon. Not a bad days work in Norfolk!
