Ami Debois (‘Dream’)

Dream Well x Baroya

In training with Graeme McPherson

2010 Bay Gelding

Ami Desbois is a son of Dream Well (sire of Ainsi Fideles and Hippomene – the French Champion Hurdler) out of a Garde Royale dam (Garde Royale was the sire of Garde Champetre and Royal Auclair) so he will be the staying chaser type in the future. He made his racecourse debut at Haydock in 2015 and has gone on to perform impressively in Novice company, including finishing third in a Grade 2 Novice behind the progressive Barters Hill last season, second to Wholestone in the Albert Bartlett trial at Cheltenham’s International Meeting this season, before finishing a very creditable fifth in the Albert Bartlett Novice Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival

Ami is a very exciting prospect for his novice chasing campaign, and will give his owners a lot of fun.

Please note, this partnership is currently SOLD OUT, but do get in touch if you are interested in this horse, as shares do become available from time to time.

anti cool photo changeAnti Cool (‘Andy’)

Heron Island x Youngborogal

In training with Robin Dickin

2009 Bay Gelding

Anti Cool ran in 6 Point to Points in Ireland, finishing in the top 4 three times including a win last time out when he recorded what, in the Pointing world, is a very high rating of 85. He’s the first foal of a winning dam (over 2m3f). Youngborogal is herself closely related to 3m chase winner Glens Boy, 3m2f chase winner Charming Lad, and 2m7f hurdle/3m chase winner Glenwood Knight and is out of unraced half-sister to the Grand National winner Papillon. This season has seen Anti Cool making the grade in the steeplechase sphere, with a hat-trick of wins to his name. He will be back for another campaign over the larger obstacles later this year, and we are hoping he can continue his winning form.

Delegator x Cecily Parsley

In training with Noel Williams

2014 Bay Filly

We’re thrilled to be offering shares in an exciting 3yo filly by Delegator, from his first crop. Purchased from the breeze-up sales, we were impressed by her attitude and action and we have high hopes that she will become a lovely dual purpose type as she matures. She has already picked up some prize money on the flat, and shown a natural aptitude for jumping hurdles.

celtic artisan photo changeCeltic Artisan (‘Dylan’)

Dylan Thomas x Perfectly Clear

In training with Rebecca Menzies

2011 Chestnut Gelding

Celtic Artisan is a winning juvenile hurdler in Ireland who came to us highly recommend as a gritty, game type capable of performing well over both hurdles and on the flat. He stayed on in pleasing fashion to win by 1⁄2 a length over two miles and looks sure to want further as he matures. Not only has Celtic Artisan won over hurdles, he’s the half-brother to several winners on the flat, including the 1m/1m2f AW winner Safari Team (RPR 81; later won in Saudi Arabia), Italian 7f-1m4f winner Jennings and to three winners in USA.

Celtic Artisan hasn’t let the family down – winning six and finishing in the first four an incredible 20 times in the two and a half years we have owned him! He runs very consistently on the all-weather during winter and enjoys hurdling through the summer, interspersed with racing on the turf on the flat.

dontmindboysDontminddboys (‘Casper’)

Portrait Gallery x Native Ocean

In training with Robin Dickin

2009 Grey Gelding

Dontminddboys was placed in an Irish point-to-point before then falling when disputing 2nd place in his next outing. He’s closely related to winners under rules over 3m plus, his full brother has won twice over 3m4f under National Hunt rules and a half-brother has won a 3m steeplechase in Ireland. Dontminddboys is a big horse who has taken time to fill out, and has certainly benefitted from his summer break. His future very much lays over the chase fences and on softer ground, a true National Hunt type whose potential very much excites his trainer. He is certainly a horse that will reward those involved for the long term and he has started to repay some of that faith finishing in the places this winter. That elusive win cannot be too far off.

knicora fortKincora Fort (‘Brian’)

Brian Boru x Glenview Rose

In training with Noel Williams

2009 Bay Gelding

Kincora Fort is closely related to point winner Dr Rose, and a half-brother to point winners Roll On Rose and Roxy Doodles; his dam won five points, and is from the family of high-class staying chaser Kinloch Brae. Kincora Fort is in training with Noel Williams in Blewbury between Reading and Oxford and has been placed in the first four in all bar two of his races. His final outing saw him win a very competitive handicap hurdle at Kempton by 3 1⁄4 lengths, recording the Racing Post’s star performance of the day. The Racing Post reported after last season that “Kincora Fort has progressed throughout his three bumpers and his size makes him one to note over jumps. In due course he should make a chaser.” Kincora Fort will be showing that when he has the opportunity to go novice chasing during Autumn 2017.

londonia photo changeLondonia (‘Lenny’)

Paco Boy x Snowdrops

In training with Graeme McPherson

2012 Grey Gelding

Londonia is an exciting 5 year old dual purpose horse, in training (and co-owned by) Graeme McPherson, near Stow on the Wold. Londonia is a son of Paco Boy and is a half-brother to winners Tawhid (a Group 3 winner), Eltheeb and Rossetti (on the flat and over hurdles); and his dam was a triple US Grade 3 winner.

We are very much looking forward to seeing his development over hurdles as the family very much improves with age, he will be a horse that has a dual purpose campaign through the summer and autumn. He has won three over hurdles and looks certain to add to that tally both over obstacles and back on the flat.

Please note, this partnership is currently SOLD OUT, but do get in touch if you are interested in this horse, as shares do become available from time to time.

our rewardOur Reward (‘Rodders’)

Morozov x Paddyeoin

In training with Jamie Snowden

2010 Bay Gelding

Our Reward has run twice in Irish Point to Points winning his second start and achieving a very impressive rating of 91 from P2P.ie. To put this in to context, Jamie’s Cheltenham Festival Winner, Present View, won his Irish Point to Point with a rating of 92. He is well related, being a full brother to the multiple winner, Sir Abbot (owned by JP McManus), currently rated 126 over Hurdles.

Our Reward made his debut in October in a Bumper, and finished a very creditable third behind a subsequent Listed winner and a Grade 2 placed horse. With his schooling over hurdles being described as “electric” we were keen to see what Our Reward could do in that sphere and were delighted when he won two novice hurdle contests and placed in two others this season.

Our Reward will be back in full training in January 2018 with a view to continuing his chasing career.

Please note, this partnership is currently SOLD OUT, but do get in touch if you are interested in this horse, as shares do become available from time to time.

Pantomime (‘Panto’)

Mastercraftsman x Dama’A

In training with Rebecca Menzies

2012 Bay Mare

Pantomime is a 5 year old daughter of Mastercraftsman whose half-brothers Darkening and Art Offical have both been winners on the flat.

She is on a lease from the Stud that own her and we have the horse to April 2018. The Stud have high hopes for her and are aiming for her to be winning races to increase her value as a broodmare. The Stud has arranged for her to be trained by REbecca Menzies, who we already know well.

Pantomime is a good looking, strong mare with very few miles on the clock who is very well handicapped on the flat but should also make an exciting novice hurdler and will give the syndicate a lot of fun.

Please note that there is just 10% available in this partnership, although do get in touch if you are interested in this horse, as further shares may become available from time to time.

unnamed photo changePride of Pemberley (‘Colin’)

Flemensfirth x On Galley Head

In training with Jamie Snowden

2012 Chestnut Gelding

This taking son of top National Hunt Sire Flemensfirth was purchased at the Doncaster Store Sales due to his eye catching stamp and attitude. His Dam was a bumper winner and a half sister to a Grade 2 bumper placed horse although he has been bred to be more of a staying type.

This appears to have been borne out in his bumper runs thus far with two very creditable performances showing that he has the cruising speed necessary, he certainly has the size and scope to take to obstacles as well, relishing soft ground, and is a very exciting novice hurdling prospect in the new season. Unfortunately, he won’t be running until Autumn 2018 due to a minor leg injury.

Sexy Legs (‘Sexy’)

Dutch Art x Classic Lass

In training with Rebecca Menzies

2012 Bay Mare

Sexy Legs is an exciting 5 year old mare, in training with Rebecca Menzies in County Durham. Sexy Legs is a daughter of Dutch Art and is a half-sister to multiple flat winner Echo of Lightning.

She has come to us on lease for 2017, although the lease may well be extended into the early part of 2018, from the Stud that own her. They have high hopes for her and are aiming for her to be winning races to increase her value as a broodmare. The Stud has arranged for her to be trained by Rebecca Menzies who has already trained many winners for us here at EPDS Racing.

Sexy Legs won her maiden race at Newcastle at the end of September, doing so a shade cosily, and will certainly step up in grade in the coming months. Please note that there is just one 2.5% SHARE available in this partnership, although do get in touch if you are interested in this horse, as further shares may become available from time to time.

stynes photo change Stynes (‘Sid’)

Aussie Rules x Magic Princess

In training with Graeme McPherson

2010 Bay Gelding

Stynes is a winning Irish Novice hurdler who has not only won over hurdles but also been placed in the first four in more than half of his starts, including a number on the flat. This eye catching son of Aussie Rules was purchased privately from a vendor in Ireland, as a very attractively handicapped horse who should give all of his shareholders a lot of fun for the coming seasons. Stynes had a fabulous summer last year winning nicely at Bath & Brighton on the flat and Newton Abbot & Exeter over Hurdles. He progressed further as a novice chaser winning two of his first three starts (and finishing second in the other) before an injury cut short his summer. He will be back in work in December 2017 and is likely to be aimed at the Punchestown Festival in April 2018; something for all his shareholders to look forward to!

tectTectona

Shirocco x Too Marvelous

In training with Louisa Carberry

2011 Bay Filly

Tectona is a dual winner on the flat as well as being in the prize money on both her runs over hurdles. She is a half sister to the Group 3 placed Earth Amber, and will be trained in France by Louisa Carberry. We are delighted to be working with Louisa and husband Philip on our first foray into French racing. Given the fantastic subsidies of many expenses of racing by the French Jockey Club, and the much better prize money on offer in France compared to the UK, we are sure that this will prove to be a very popular horse. Tectona returned to action this month with a very creditable 4th placed finish at Landivisiau, picking up Euro1,000 in prize money for her owners.

In training with Graeme McPherson

2014 Bay Filly

We’re thrilled to be offering shares in an exciting dual purpose 3yo filly by Mawatheeq, from his first crop. Purchased from the breeder, this filly is the half-sister to the useful flat horse and hurdler “Cool Sky” trained by Ian Williams, and we have high hopes that she will become a lovely dual purpose type. Her family is another that continues to improve as they mature and we are very much looking forward to seeing her on the track later on this year.
