Yard Visit to Rebecca Menzies’

Another windy morning for the EPDS Racing members this weekend, visiting the yard of Rebecca Menzies at Foulrice Farm in North Yorkshire.

Rebecca has had a terrible time of things over the Christmas and New Year period, with severe flooding forcing her to change the way she trains her Horses and their day-to-day routine. It was amazing to see the incredible efforts of the team to get the yard back into good order. Her results of late have done the talking, and the Horses are in flying form!

Our members got to see Asuncion and last week’s winner, Celtic Artisan, having a gallop. They both looked an absolute picture, and did their best to pull some fantastic shapes for their work riders, Danielle and Sarah. As you’ll see from the attached photos, the sheer fun that all four of them were having was a joy to watch!

We never mind retiring to the pub once we can no longer feel our fingers on these visits, and the Bay Tree in Stillington comes highly recommended! There were some great debates between members, which varied from Favourite Racecourses to this years’ Cheltenham hopes, and the best ante-post price secured on our Albert Bartlett hope, Ami Desbois!
Asuncion is entered in a 2m chase at Sedgefield on Tuesday, and Brian Hughes is booked to ride. Celtic Artisan is due to run later in the week, over 1m2f back at Chelmsford. If the way they look at home turns into results on the racecourse, then we’ll be very pleased!

Many thanks to all of you who came on Saturday, and best of luck to all of those involved in them both.
